Sandeep Mohan’s journey exemplifies the spirit of independent filmmaking, where creative freedom triumphs over mainstream trends. By consistently making non-formula, engaging films that reflect his personal tastes, interests, and artistic vision, he has carved a distinctive niche in the cinematic world.

His diverse background, starting as an assistant director on the current affairs programme Adarniya Pradan Mantri for Zee TV, working as an assistant director to Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, transitioning into advertising as a copywriter, and eventually returning to Mumbai to write briefly for television, directing music videos and eventually foraying into writing and directing his own Feature Films, has given him a wealth of experiences that shape his unique storytelling approach. Each phase of his career has contributed to his ability to craft intimate, relatable, non-formula stories, as seen in films like Love Wrinkle-free, Hola Venky, Shreelancer, Nirmal Anand Ki Puppy, and his most recent film, Danny Goes Aum (which he has produced it himself apart from writing-directing).

His journey is a testament to the power of passion, independence, and authenticity in filmmaking, reminding aspiring filmmakers of the importance of staying true to one’s vision. As he scripts his sixth feature, Sandeep continues to embody the indie spirit that has defined his career.
